The NASCAR Cup Series visited Richmond Raceway on Saturday night in the Cook Out 400. Ryan Blaney started the race on the pole, with Chase Briscoe starting second.
Ryan Blaney led 60 of 70 laps to win the first stage. It was his sixth stage win of the season. In stage two, Zane Smith spun on his own in between Turns 1 and 2 after hitting the outside wall. Joey Logano took the lead from Ryan Blaney on lap 182. He led 51 laps to win the second stage.
Late in the race, Chase Briscoe, who led a race-high 171 of 400 laps, was closing in on Joey Logano. Briscoe got close to Logano but ran out of time. Joe Logano led the final 25 laps to win the race by 0.392 seconds over Briscoe. It was Logano’s second win of the season, and he is a three-time winner at Richmond. Logano led 95 laps.
Austin Cindric, Denny Hamlin, and Chase Elliott rounded out the top five. Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Josh Berry, William Byron, and Alex Bowman completed the top ten. Click here to view the finishing order. There were four cautions for 31 laps and 29 lead changes among 10 drivers.
The NASCAR Cup Series heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway next Sunday at 3 pm on USA.
