The Detroit Lions are signing Louisville Kings wide receivers Lucky Jackson and Tarik Black on Tuesday, according to James Larsen.
Lucky Jackson is six foot and weighs 186 pounds. The 28-year-old from Lexington, Kentucky, signed with the Louisville Kings on February 18, 2026. In 2026, he made 32 catches for 392 yards, two touchdowns, completed one pass for 26 yards, one kick return for 23 yards, and nine punt returns for 109 yards in 10 games. In the UFL Playoffs, he made six catches for 48 yards and four punt returns for 46 yards, helping the Kings win the UFL United Bowl over the D.C. Defenders.
In 2021, Jackson played for the Blues of The Spring League with 10 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Jackson on April 13, 2022. He attended training camp, and the team released him on June 5, 2022.
The Edmonton Elks signed Jackson on September 13, 2022. In 2022, he appeared in one game. The Elks released him on October 21, 2022. The D.C. Defenders drafted Jackson in the 11th round (81st pick) of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, he made 36 catches for 573 yards, five touchdowns, and one forced fumble in 10 games.
In the XFL playoffs, Jackson made four catches for 89 yards and one touchdown, helping the Defenders reach the XFL Championship game against the Arlington Renegades. Jackson was named to the All-XFL Team.
The Defenders released Jackson on May 23, 2023, and he signed with the Minnesota Vikings on the same day. Jackson spent three seasons in Minnesota. He appeared in three regular-season games, and made 12 catches for 129 yards, three punt returns for 37 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in eight preseason games. In 2025, he made five catches for 49 yards and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games.
Collegiately, Jackson spent four seasons at Western Kentucky (2016-19) with 210 catches for 2,691 yards, 13 touchdowns, seven carries for 65 yards, one touchdown, completing 1 of 3 passes (33.3%) for eight yards, one touchdown, one kick return for 20 yards, and six tackles (6 solos) in 51 games for the Hilltoppers. He was named a two-time Conference USA Honorable Mention, First Team All-Conference USA in 2019, and the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl MVP in 2019.
Tarik Black is six foot two and weighs 213 pounds. The 28-year-old from Hamden, Connecticut, was drafted by the Louisville Kings in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, he made 27 catches for 388 yards, three touchdowns, and one carry for three yards in nine games. In the UFL Playoffs, Black made four catches for 71 yards and one carry for nine yards, helping the Kings win the UFL United Bowl over the D.C. Defenders.
The Indianapolis Colts signed Black as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2021. He also spent time with the New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Miami Dolphins. Black made one catch for 10 yards in one regular-season game for the Jets in 2021.
Collegiately, Black spent three seasons at the University of Michigan (2017-19) with 40 catches for 507 yards and two touchdowns in 21 games for the Wolverines. Then, he transferred to the University of Texas in 2020 with 10 catches for 240 yards and one touchdown in eight games for the Longhorns.
