The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (67-76, 32-36) played their final home game of the 2026 season on Sunday afternoon against the Worcester Red Sox (73-65, 37-30) at Coca-Cola Park. Casey Lawrence was on the mound for Lehigh Valley against Gage Ziehl for Worcester.
At the top of the second inning, Worcester second baseman put the Red Sox up 2-0 when he hit Lawrence’s four-seam fastball to right-center field. It was his eighth home run of the season. With two outs, a flyout by Nate Baez ended the inning. At the top of the third inning, Worcester designated hitter Vinny Capra made it 3-0 by hitting Lawrence’s sinker for a solo home run at 384 feet to left-center field. It was his 11th home run of the season.
Worcester shortstop Franklin Arias extended the Red Sox’s lead to 4-0 when he hit Lawrence’s cutter for a solo home run at 439 feet to left-center field. It was his fifth home run of the season, and the exit velocity off the bat was 103.8 mph. With two outs, Lawrence struck out Mikey Romero to end the inning.
At the top of the fourth inning, Worcester had runners on the corners with two outs when Max Ferguson hit an RBI single to shortstop Otto Kemp, scoring Tsung-Che Cheng for a 5-0 lead. A groundout by Vinny Capra ended the inning. Casey Lawrence went five innings, allowing nine hits, five runs, and five strikeouts, throwing 83 pitches, of which 58 were strikes.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Worcester had a no-hitter going with two outs until Lehigh Valley first baseman Keaton Anthony hit Gage Ziehl’s sinker at 417 feet to center field, cutting the lead to 5-1. It was Anthony’s 11th home run of the season, and the exit velocity off the bat was 103.7 mph. A groundout by Carter Kieboom ended the inning.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lehigh Valley had runners on second and third base when Nick Biddison reached first base on a fielder’s choice, scoring Payton Henry. It was now 5-2. With two outs, a lineout by Gabriel Rincones Jr. to right field ended the inning.
Max Lazar pitched for Lehigh Valley at the top of the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Kameron Misner hit a one-out single to third base, and later stole second base. With two outs, Carter Kieboom made it 5-3 when he hit an RBI single to center field, scoring Misner. Afterward, the Red Sox made a pitching change.
Payton Henry was hit by a pitch, putting runners on first and second base. Right fielder Colby Thomas tied the game 5-5 with a two-run RBI double to left field, scoring Kieboom and Henry. Second baseman Nick Biddison hit an RBI single to left field, scoring Thomas to give the IronPigs a 6-5 lead. A throwing error by third baseman Mikey Romero allowed Biddison to move to second base. Biddison advanced to third base on a passed ball by catcher Nate Baez. A flyout by Wuilfredo Antunez ended the inning.
At the top of the seventh inning with one out, Worcester right fielder Allan Castro tied the game 6-6 by hitting Lazar’s four-seam fastball for a solo home run at 391 feet to right field. It was his 11th home run of the season, and the exit velocity off the bat was 99.8 mph. With two outs, Tyler McDonough lined out to second baseman Nick Biddison to end the inning.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Lehigh Valley had a runner on second base with two outs when Keaton Anthony hit an RBI double to left field, scoring Kameron Misner to put the IronPigs up 7-6. It was his 14th double of the season. A groundout by Carter Kieboom ended the inning.
Max Lazar went two innings, allowing a hit, a run, a walk, and one strikeout, throwing 25 pitches, of which 15 were strikes. Tucker Davidson pitched for Lehigh Valley at the top of the eighth inning. He allowed a hit and two strikeouts, throwing 12 pitches, of which nine were strikes.
Kirby Snead pitched for Lehigh Valley at the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Allan Castro hit Snead’s slider for a two-run home run at 394 feet to give the Red Sox an 8-7 lead. It was his second home run of the day, 12th of the season, and the exit velocity off the bat was 104.5 mph. With two outs, a groundout by Nathan Hickey ended the inning. Snead allowed two hits, two runs, and one walk, throwing 18 pitches, of which 11 were strikes.
The IronPigs dropped series finale 8-7. They split the series and lost the season series 10-8. Lehigh Valley finished the afternoon with nine hits, went four for nine with runners in scoring position, and left four men on base. Keaton Anthony went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. The loss went to Lehigh Valley pitcher Kirby Snead (6-3), and the win went to Worcester pitcher Sam McWilliams (3-2).
