Jesse Love scores his first win of the season at Gateway

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series visited World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway on Saturday night in the Nu Way 225 Sauced by Blues Hog. Carson Kvapil started the race on the pole with Jesse Love starting second.

Carson Kvapil led a race-high 105 of 180 laps, including winning the first stage. Jesse Love led 70 laps, including winning the second stage. There were seven cautions for 37 laps, including a chain-reaction crash on pit road on lap 50 and William Sawalich hitting Corey Day on lap 134, sending him hard into the inside wall.

With 16 laps to go, Love passed Kvapil for the lead. He pulled away to win his first race of the season by 0.896 seconds over Sheldon Creed. It was his fourth career win. Sam Mayer, Taylor Gray, and Carson Kvapil rounded out the top five. Parker Retzlaff, Brent Crews, Sammy Smith, Kyle Sieg, and Jeb Burton completed the top ten. Click here to view the full results.
