The Ottawa Redblacks signed defensive lineman Bryce Cage on Saturday, according to the CFL Transactions page.
Bryce Cage is six foot five and weighs 270 pounds. The 23-year-old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, began his collegiate career at Southeastern Louisiana University (2021-22) with 29 tackles (15 solos, 14 assists), nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 16 games for the Lions.
Next, he transferred to Texas State in 2023 with six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) and one tackle for loss in nine games for the Bobcats. Then, he transferred to Grambling State (2024-25) with 112 tackles (61 solos, 51 assists), 26.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and one forced fumble in 24 games for the Tigers. In 2025, he made a career-high 63 tackles (36 solos, 27 assists), 15.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks in 12 games.
The Redblacks released the following players: quarterback Matt Morrissey, running backs Julian Gray and Marquez Cooper, wide receivers T.J. Speight, Latreal Jones, and Mathew Sexton, offensive linemen Gabe Brown and Chaz Neal, defensive linemen T.J. Jackson, Marcel Walker-Burgess, Jordan Smith, and Josh Pearcy, linebacker Bo Spearman, and defensive backs Jordan Wright, Quenton Meeks, and Iverson Brown.
