The Birmingham Stallions released defensive tackle Nate Becker and defensive back Shaquan Loyal on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Nate Becker is six foot five and weighs 260 pounds. A native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Becker signed with the Birmingham Stallions on April 21, 2026. He made one tackle (1 assist) against the D.C. Defenders.
Collegiately, Becker spent five seasons at the University of Minnesota (2021-25) with 14 tackles (7 solos, 7 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack in 29 games for the Golden Gophers. In 2025, he made 11 tackles (4 solos, 7 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack in 13 games.
Shaquan Loyal is five foot eleven and weighs 202 pounds. The 24-year-old from Newark, New Jersey, was drafted by the Birmingham Stallions in the 2026 UFL Draft. He did not play for the Stallions in 2026.
The Cincinnati Bengals signed Loyal as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2025. In 2025, he made three tackles (3 solos) in three preseason games. The Bengals released him on August 25, 2025.
Collegiately, Loyal spent four seasons at Rutgers (2021-24) with 176 tackles (102 solos, 74 assists), eight tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions for 104 yards, one touchdown, 16 pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one blocked kick, and one punt return for 30 yards in 43 games for the Scarlet Knights. He was named a three-time Academic All-Big Ten (2022-24) and an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2024.
