The Toronto Argonauts re-signed wide receiver DaVaris Daniels and defensive lineman Folarin Orimolade to one-year contract extensions through the 2024 season and signed running back Deandre Torrey on Monday.

DaVaris Daniels is six foot one and weighs 203 pounds. The 31-year-old from Vernon Hills, Illinois, made 52 catches for 1,009 yards, and eight touchdowns in 17 games for the Argonauts in 2023. Toronto signed Daniels as a free agent on February 11, 2020, but the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19. In three seasons in Toronto, Daniels has 173 catches for 2, 317 yards, 12 touchdowns, and one carry for 18 yards in 45 games for the Argonauts.

Before Toronto, Daniels signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He also had a stint with the New England Patriots. In 2016, Daniels signed with the Calgary Stampeders in 2016.

In 2018, he played 12 games with 50 catches for 747 yards, and seven touchdowns, helping the Stampeders win the Grey Cup over the Ottawa Redblacks. He spent three seasons in Calgary with 148 catches for 2,375 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six carries for 26 yards in 36 games.

In 2019, Daniels played for the Edmonton Eskimos with 54 catches for 738 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. Daniels was named CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award in 2016 and is a two-time Grey Cup champion.

Collegiately, Daniels played three seasons at Notre Dame (2011-13) with 80 catches for 1,235 yards, and seven touchdowns in 24 games for the Fighting Irish.

Folarin Orimolade is five foot eleven and weighs 238 pounds. The 28-year-old from Washington, D.C., made 36 tackles, ten sacks, and two forced fumbles in 17 games for the Argonauts in 2023. He was named a CFL East All-Star in 2023.

Before Toronto, Orimolade signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Then, Orimolade signed with the Calgary Stampeders on May 11, 2018. Orimolade played three seasons in Calgary with 52 tackles, 11 tackles on special teams, ten sacks, one interception, and three forced fumbles in 37 games. He is a member of the 2018 Grey Cup championship team.

Collegiately, Orimolade played four seasons at Dartmouth (2013-16) with 143 tackles (86 solo, 57 assists), 35 tackles for loss, 23.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, ten forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 40 games for the Big Green. He was named First Team All-Ivy League as a linebacker in 2015.

Deandre Torrey is five foot seven and weighs 201 pounds. The 25-year-old from Gautier, Mississippi, had 19 carries for 48 yards, one touchdown, six catches for 40 yards, and 18 kick returns for 357 yards in six games for the Vegas Vipers (XFL) in 2023. The Vipers drafted Torrey in the ninth round (69th pick) of the 2023 XFL Draft.

Before Vegas, Torrey played one game for the Michigan Panthers in 2022 against the Pittsburgh Maulers in Week 10 with two carries for three yards. After Michigan, Torrey signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022. He played two preseason games with three carries for 13 yards.

Collegiately, Torrey played four seasons at North Texas (2018-21) with 609 carries for 3,228 yards, 36 touchdowns, 57 catches for 436 yards, four touchdowns, 51 kick returns for 1,159 yards, one touchdown, and one punt for 16 yards in 44 games for the Mean Green. He was named Second-Team All-CUSA in 2021.
