The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series visited Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the Focused Health 302. Corey Day started the race on the pole, with Sheldon Creed starting second.
Corey Day led the opening lap before losing the lead to Sheldon Creed. Day would get the lead back on lap nine, leading 39 laps to win the first stage. In the second stage, Brandon Jones had a left loose wheel and spun, hitting Justin Allgaier on lap 56. Sam Mayer led 39 laps, winning the second stage. Mayer would serve a pit-stop penalty for an uncontrolled tire.
In the final stage, Carson Kvapil and Corey Day went at it for the lead. The two exchanged the lead five times in the final 51 laps. With two laps to go, Day ran the high side, while Kvapil ran the low side. Day brushed the wall a couple of times. Corey led a race-high 136 of 201 laps to win his third race of the season by 0.287 seconds over Carson Kvapil.
There were three cautions for 21 laps and 15 lead changes among nine drivers. Jesse Love, Brent Crews, and Taylor Gray rounded out the top five. Sam Mayer, Jeremy Clements, William Sawalich, Austin Hill, and Anthony Alfredo completed the top ten. Click here to view the full results.
