Big crash in race 22 of the OTR SuperSprint

On Sunday, the Repco Supercars Championship concluded the OTR SuperSprint at The Bend Motorsport Park for races 22 and 23.

In Race 22, Thomas Randle could not get his car started and was slammed from behind by Andre Heimgartner, causing a safety car. Chaz Mostert led the first five laps before Shane Van Gisbergen took the lead for good and won race 22 by 2.573 seconds over Mostert.

The rest of the top ten finishers were James Courtney third, Cam Waters fourth, Anton De Pasquale fifth, Broc Feeney sixth, Will Brown seventh, David Reynolds eighth, Mark Winterbottom ninth, and Bryce Fullwood tenth.

In Race 23, Shane Van Gisbergen completed the sweep, helping Holden win the Manufacturer championship. Gisbergen beat Cam Waters by 8.710 seconds. The rest of the top ten finishers were Brodie Kostecki third, Will Davison fourth, Broc Feeney fifth, Will Brown sixth, Anton De Pasquale seventh, Chaz Mostert eighth, Nick Percat ninth, and Lee Holdsworth tenth.

The Supercars return next month at Sandown International Motor Raceway in Melbourne, Victoria, from August 19th through 21st.
