The Toronto Argonauts released running back Weagbe Mombo on Friday, according to the CFL Transactions page.
Weagbe Mombo is five foot eleven and weighs 215 pounds. The 21-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the eighth round (67th pick) of the 2026 CFL Draft. In 2026, he had two carries for five yards, one rushing touchdown, and one catch for 11 yards in two preseason games, earning a spot on the practice squad.
Collegiately, Mombo spent four seasons at the University of Windsor (2022-25) with 135 carries for 1,274 yards, four rushing touchdowns, 15 catches for 93 yards, four kick returns for 95 yards, and four punt returns for 109 yards in 23 games for the Lancers.
In 2024, he was named Second Team All-OUA after finishing the season with 77 carries for 703 yards, three rushing touchdowns, and seven catches for 86 yards. In 2025, he had 10 carries for 82 yards and three catches for nine yards.
