Kyle Larson dominates to second win of the season at Kansas Speedway

The NASCAR Cup Series visited Kansas Speedway on Sunday afternoon in the Hollywood Casino 400. Qualifying was rained out. Joey Logano started the race on the pole, with Kyle Larson starting second.

Kyle Larson dominated the race, leading a race-high 235 of 267 laps, including sweeping both stages. He led the opening 36 laps and passed Chase Briscoe with seven laps to go to win his second race of the season by 0.565 seconds over Austin Cindric. Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top five. Christopher Bell, William Byron, Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace, and Ryan Preece completed the top ten. There were 13 lead changes among seven drivers. There were also five cautions for 26 laps, including on lap 123 when Brad Keselowski made contact with Carson Hocevar that also involved five other drivers, including Ty Gibbs, Bubba Wallace, John Hunter Nemechek, and Zane Smith. There was only one driver out of the race, and that was Noah Gragson, whose car had an engine failure.

The Cup Series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway next Sunday at 5:30 pm on USA.
