The Montreal Alouettes (4-1) took on the Calgary Stampeders (2-3) at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. The Stampeders were looking to continue their momentum after a 58-36 win over the Argonauts last week, while the Alouettes were coming off a bye week.
Montreal got the ball to start the game on the 49-yard line. Quarterback Davis Alexander completed three of four passes for 42 yards to the 19-yard line. Kicker Jose Maltos Diaz made a 27-yard field goal to give the Alouettes a 3-0 lead with 12:15 left.
Midway through the first quarter, Calgary had the ball on the 35-yard line. Montreal’s defense came through after quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. ran for nine yards before defensive back Najee Murray slapped the ball out of Adams Jr.’s hand, and it was recovered by linebacker Tyrice Beverette at the 37-yard line.
Montreal quarterback Davis Alexander scrambled out of the pocket before throwing a 30-yard pass to Tyson Philpot. On the next play, Davis Alexander threw the ball to Tyler Snead, who took a hit just as he threw the ball to Tyson Philpot for a seven-yard touchdown. The Alouettes led 10-0 with 6:21 left.
Calgary had the ball on the 44-yard line. The Stampeders moved the ball to the 20-yard line, where Vernon Adams Jr. threw a touchdown pass to Dejon Brissett. The Stampeders trailed the Alouettes 10-7 with 2:14 left to conclude an eight-play drive for 70 yards.

With under a minute left, Calgary had the ball on the 25-yard line. Vernon Adams Jr. threw two passes for 38 yards before kicker Jude McAtamney made a 54-yard field goal. The Stampeders trailed the Alouettes 24-13 at halftime.

Running back Travis Theis had four carries for 27 yards, and one rushing touchdown, while Tyson Philpot made six catches for 96 yards. Calgary’s offense had 157 yards. Running back Dedrick Mills had six carries for 26 yards, and Dejon Brissett made three catches for 58 yards and one touchdown.

Quarterback Dustin Crum scored the touchdown to make it 34-20 with 4:22 left to conclude a four-play drive for 76 yards.
Late in the third quarter, Tevin Jones rushed for 17 yards to the 44-yard line. After Vernon Adams Jr. was sacked by Najee Murray for an eight-yard loss, Adams Jr. threw a 12-yard pass to Dedrick Mills to the 40-yard line. Kicker Jude McAtamney made a 47-yard field goal. The Stampeders trailed the Alouettes 34-23 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Davis Alexander threw an incomplete pass to Marco Dubois. During the play, Alexander was holding his left knee, signaling he might have pulled a hamstring. Despite this, Alexander stayed in the game. Later, Montreal kicker Jose Maltos Diaz made a 25-yard field goal for a 37-23 lead with 6:11 left.
Late in the game, Calgary had the ball on the 33-yard line. Vernon Adams Jr. rushed for nine yards, and a penalty on Montreal moved the ball to the 19-yard line. On the next play, Adams Jr. scrambled out of the pocket before throwing a 19-yard touchdown pass to Clark Banes. The Stampeders trailed the Alouettes 37-30 with 2:17 left to conclude a four-play drive for 33 yards.
They would get another opportunity with 1:35 left at the 37-yard line. Vernon Adams Jr. threw two passes for 37 yards to the 36-yard line. Running back Dedrick Mills rushed for six yards, and Ludovick Choquette had two carries for nine yards to the 21-yard line. The Alouettes held on to beat the Stampeders 37-30. They are now 3-0 at home.

Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. completed 20 of 36 passes (55%) for 272 yards, three touchdowns, and five carries for 43 yards. Running back Dedrick Mills had nine carries for 49 yards.
Wide receiver Dejon Brissett made five catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns, while Jalen Philpot made three catches for 66 yards, and Clark Barnes made three catches for 40 yards and one touchdown. The defense made 37 tackles, four tackles for loss, and one sack.
