The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed quarterback Eddie Lee Marburger to a future contract on Thursday, according to the CFL Transactions page. The contract does not start until after the 2026 season.
Eddie Lee Marburger is five foot eleven and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Mission, Texas, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on September 20, 2026, and was placed on the practice squad. The Roughriders released him on October 6, 2026.
Collegiately, Marburger spent four seasons at the University of Texas at San Antonio (2021-24), completing 65 of 120 passes (54.2%) for 777 yards, seven touchdowns, four interceptions, 26 carries for 40 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 18 games for the Roadrunners.
Then, he transferred to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2025, where he was named the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Texas Non-FBS Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Texas after finishing the season completing 199 of 305 passes (65%) for 2,780 yards, 31 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 79 carries for 308 yards, and four rushing touchdowns in 12 games for the Vaqueros.
