The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed defensive back Jonathan Edouard and long snapper Mike Benson on Wednesday.

Jonathan Edouard is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 30-year-old from Orlando, Florida, made one tackle and 11 tackles on special teams in 17 games in 2025. The Argonauts released him on May 6, 2026.

The Toronto Argonauts signed Edouard on September 30, 2022. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2023, he made six tackles, 11 tackles on special teams, and one sack in 18 games. In 2024, Edouard made six tackles, one tackle on special teams, and one interception in six games, helping them win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Collegiately, Edouard played three seasons at Henderson State University (2014-16) with 69 tackles (47 solos, 22 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, two interceptions, 11 pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and completed one pass for three yards in 32 games for the Reddies.

Then, Edouard transferred to Carleton (2018-19, 2021) with 62 tackles (48 solos, 14 assists), three interceptions for 21 yards, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 15 games for the Ravens. Edouard was named Second Team OUA All-Star in 2018.

Mike Benson is five foot nine and weighs 245 pounds. The 39-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, re-signed with the Blue Bombers on February 11, 2025. In 2025, he played one game before a hip injury sidelined him. The Blue Bombers released him on August 12, 2025.

The Edmonton Eskimos signed Benson on June 11, 2012. He made one tackle on special teams in three games. Next, the Toronto Argonauts signed Benson on June 1, 2014, and released him on June 22, 2014. The B.C. Lions signed Benson on August 31, 2014. He played five seasons with 15 tackles on special teams in 35 games. He also spent time with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2019 and the Montreal Alouettes in 2020, but the season was canceled.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Benson on February 9, 2021. In 2021, he played 14 games, helping them win the 108th Grey Cup over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2024, he made four tackles on special teams in 18 games, helping them reach the Grey Cup for the fifth consecutive season. In five seasons, Benson made seven tackles on special teams.

Benson has played a total of 157 career games. Benson played for the Winnipeg Rifles (CJFL) and played college football at Acadia University.
