The Detroit Lions signed Columbus Aviators wide receiver Tay Martin on Wednesday.
Tay Martin is six foot one and weighs 184 pounds. The 28-year-old from Houma, Louisiana, was drafted by the Columbus Aviators in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, he led the team with 42 catches for 483 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games.
The San Francisco 49ers signed Martin as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. He also spent time with the Tennessee Titans and the Washington Commanders. Martin made three catches for 72 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in seven career NFL games.
Collegiately, Martin spent three seasons at Washington State University (2017-19) with 143 catches for 1,615 yards, 18 touchdowns, one punt return for 24 yards, 10 tackles (6 solos, 4 assists), one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 39 games for the Cougars.
Then, he transferred to Oklahoma State University (2020-21) with 95 catches for 1,195 yards, 10 touchdowns, two carries for 13 yards, one rushing touchdown, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 21 games for the Cowboys. He was named Second Team All-Big XII in 2021.
