The Montreal Alouettes re-signed wide receiver DeMeer Blankumsee and signed wide receiver Dalton Stroman Jr. on Saturday, according to the CFL Transactions page. The Alouettes released tight end Oscar Cardenas and defensive back Derrick Langford Jr.
DeMeer Blankumsee is five foot ten and weighs 192 pounds. The 24-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on January 20, 2026. They released him on May 12, 2026.
The New England Patriots signed Blankumsee as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. The Patriots released him on July 30, 2025.
Collegiately, Blankumsee spent three seasons at the University of Toledo (2020-22) with 57 catches for 677 yards, four touchdowns, one carry for 15 yards, four kick returns for 84 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 25 games for the Rockets.
Then, he transferred to Memphis (2023-24) with 98 catches for 1,578 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four carries for 11 yards in 26 games for the Tigers. In 2023, he was named Third Team All-AAC by Phil Steele after finishing the season with a career-high 53 catches for 901 yards, seven touchdowns, and two carries for 15 yards in 13 games. In his final collegiate season, he made 45 catches for 677 yards, six touchdowns, and two carries for -4 yards in 13 games.
Blankumsee attended Winton Woods High School, where he helped lead the team to an OHSAA Division II State Championship Game berth in 2017 and a semifinal appearance in 2018. He also earned All-Ohio honors in 2019 from the Ohio Prep Sportswriter’s Association (OPSWA).
Dalton Stroman Jr. is six foot four and weighs 210 pounds. A native of Rockingham, North Carolina, Stroman Jr. spent five seasons at Appalachian State University (2021-25) with 95 catches for 1,744 yards, 16 touchdowns, and one carry for six yards in 50 games for the Mountaineers.
In 2025, he made a career-high 35 catches for 666 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. He finished his collegiate career at No. 1 in program history with 18.4 yards per reception and No. 9 with 16 touchdown receptions. Stroman Jr. accounted for two of the nine best yards-per-catch seasons in App State history, ranking seventh (19.5 in 2023) and ninth (19.0) in 2025.
Oscar Cardenas is six foot four and weighs 265 pounds. The 24-year-old from San Antonio, Texas, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on April 29, 2026.
The Arizona Cardinals signed Cardenas as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, Cardenas played in three preseason games with no stats. The Cardinals released him on August 25, 2025.
Collegiately, Cardenas spent six seasons at the University of Texas at San Antonio (2019-24) with 95 catches for 1,138 yards, nine touchdowns, five carries for eight yards, one kick return for 10 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 65 games for the Roadrunners.
In 2024, he was named Second Team All-AAC after finishing the season with 13 catches for 141 yards and three touchdowns. He was also named Third Team All-AAC in 2022 and an All-AAC Honorable Mention in 2021.
Derrick Langford Jr. is six foot one and weighs 205 pounds. The 26-year-old from Richmond, California, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on February 19, 2026.

Collegiately, Langford Jr. played one season at San Francisco Community College in 2018 with 30 tackles (25 solos, 5 assists), one interception, and four pass breakups in 11 games for the Rams.
Then, Langford Jr. transferred to Washington State (2019-22) with 91 tackles (60 solos, 31 assists), one tackle for loss, four interceptions for 71 yards, one touchdown, 17 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 39 games for the Cougars.
