The Detroit Lions signed D.C. Defenders defensive back Ekow Boye-Doe on Sunday.
Ekow Boye-Doe is five foot eleven and weighs 177 pounds. The 26-year-old from Accra, Ghana, was drafted by the D.C. Defenders in the 2026 UFL Draft. The Defenders released him on March 19, 2026. The Defenders re-signed him a short time later. In 2026, he made seven tackles (7 solos) and four pass breakups in seven games. In the UFL playoffs, he made two tackles, helping the Defenders reach the United Bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Boye-Doe as an undrafted free agent on May 15, 2023. He appeared in six games when the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII over the San Francisco 49ers. He also spent time with the New York Giants and the Arizona Cardinals. Boye-Doe made 19 tackles (14 solos, 5 assists) in nine preseason games.
Collegiately, Boye-Doe spent four seasons at Kansas State University (2019-22) with 74 tackles (56 solos, 18 assists), three tackles for loss, 13 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 42 games, of which 35 were starts for the Wildcats. In 2022, he was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention after finishing the season with a career-high 26 tackles (22 solos, 4 assists), four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 14 games.
