The B.C. Lions signed defensive lineman Colby Taylor on Friday, per his agency.
Colby Taylor is six foot three and weighs 260 pounds. The 24-year-old from Summerville, South Carolina, attended rookie minicamps for the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2026.
Collegiately, Taylor spent two seasons at Newberry College (2023-24) with 71 tackles (46 solos, 25 assists), 22 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 20 games for the Wolves.
In 2024, he was named the Newberry Comeback Player of the Year and was honored with the Newberry Pack Leader Award after finishing the season with a career-high 47 tackles (28 solos, 19 assists), 14.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles in 10 games.
Then he transferred to the University of West Florida in 2025 with eight tackles (4 solos, 4 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 11 games for the Argonauts.
