The B.C. Lions signed quarterback Jarret Doege and defensive back T.J. Burke on Friday.

Jarret Doege is six foot two and weighs 208 pounds. The 28-year-old from Lubbock, Texas, signed with the Toronto Argonauts on May 27, 2025. In 2025, Doege completed 97 of 142 passes (68.3%) for 905 yards, four touchdowns, seven interceptions, nine carries for 29 yards, and one rushing touchdown in 18 games. The Argonauts released him on May 13, 2026.

The Edmonton Elks signed Doege on April 3, 2023. In 2023, he completed 42 of 65 passes (64.6%) for 587 yards, four touchdowns, four interceptions, and seven carries for five yards in 16 games. In 2024, Doege completed 1 of 3 passes (33%) for six yards and one carry for five yards in four games. The Elks released him on May 2, 2025.

Doege began his collegiate career at Bowling Green State University (2017-18), completing 362 of 577 passes (62.7%) for 4,041 yards, 39 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 81 carries for -262 yards, and four touchdowns in 19 games for the Falcons. In 2018, he led the MAC in passing touchdowns (27) and passing yards (2,660).

Next, Doege transferred to West Virginia (2019-21), completing 590 of 911 passes (65%) for 6,453 yards, 40 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 117 carries for -304 yards, and three touchdowns in 27 games for the Mountaineers.

In 2020, Doege completed 239 of 374 passes (64%) for 2,587 yards, 14 touchdowns, four interceptions, 40 carries for -101 yards, and two touchdowns in ten games. He was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, All-Big 12 Second Team, and All-Big 12 Fourth Team in 2020.

Then, he transferred to Troy in 2022, completing 44 of 64 passes (69%) for 575 yards, five touchdowns, three interceptions, and 14 carries for -39 yards in seven games for the Trojans.

T.J. Burke is six foot two and weighs 305 pounds. A native of Selbyville, Delaware, Burke spent four seasons at Lehigh University (2022-25) with 113 tackles (51 solos, 62 assists), 22 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks in 47 games for the Mountain Hawks.

In 2024, he was named First Team All-Patriot League after finishing the season with a career-high 40 tackles (15 solos, 25 assists), 10.5 tackles for loss, and seven sacks in 13 games. In 2025, he was named First Team All-Patriot League and All-American Honors by the Associated Press (Honorable Mention) and FCS Football Central (Third Team) after finishing the season with 37 tackles (18 solos, 19 assists), seven tackles for loss, and four sacks in 13 games.

The Lions also announced two more moves:

Defensive lineman Tomasi Laulile was placed on the six-game injured list, and wide receiver Bryan Thompson was released.

Bryan Thompson is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 27-year-old from Moreno Valley, California, signed with the B.C. Lions on January 30, 2026.

The Buffalo Bills signed Thompson as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made two catches for 11 yards in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad. The Bills re-signed him on January 22, 2024. In 2024, he appeared in one preseason game. He suffered a hamstring injury, and the Bills released him on August 22, 2024.

Collegiately, Thompson spent four seasons at Utah (2017-20) with 33 catches for 756 yards, four touchdowns, one carry for nine yards, one rushing touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 33 games for the Utes. Then, he transferred to Arizona State (2021-22) with 38 catches for 507 yards and two carries for 17 yards in 22 games for the Sun Devils.
