The Toronto Argonauts released linebacker Jordan Herdman-Reed on Wednesday, according to the CFL Transactions page.
Jordan Herdman-Reed is six foot and weighs 235 pounds. The 31-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, made one tackle and one tackle on special teams in two preseason games. The Roughriders released him on May 31, 2025. The Toronto Argonauts signed Herdman-Reed on July 29, 2025. In 2025, he made five tackles on special teams in seven games. The Argonauts re-signed Herdman-Reed on November 19, 2025.
The B.C. Lions drafted Herdman-Reed in the seventh round (60th pick) in the 2017 CFL Draft. He played three seasons in British Columbia with 95 tackles, 44 tackles on special teams, three sacks, and one forced fumble in 52 games.
Then, Herdman-Reed signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on February 9, 2021. He played two seasons in Saskatchewan, making one tackle and six tackles on special teams in 17 games. The Calgary Stampeders signed Herdman-Reed as a free agent on May 24, 2023. In 2023, he made ten tackles on special teams in 16 games.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders re-signed Herdman-Reed on February 13, 2024. In 2024, he made eight tackles on special teams in eight games.
Collegiately, Herdman-Reed played four seasons at Simon Fraser University (2013-16) with 226 tackles (94 solos, 132 assists), 15 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 25 games for the Red Leafs.
The Argonauts also released the following players: Quarterback Jarret Doege, running back Spencer Brown, wide receivers Ezechiel Tieide, Michael Monis, and Dorian Anderson, offensive lineman Joshua Donovan, defensive linemen Amin Vanover and Thiadric Hansen, and defensive back Trey Rucker.
