The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed defensive end Nuer Gatkuoth on Tuesday.
Nuer Gatkuoth is six foot four and weighs 237 pounds. The 24-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, attended the Denver Broncos rookie minicamp last week. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers drafted Gatkuoth in the first round (4th pick) of the 2026 CFL Draft.
Collegiately, Gatkuoth spent three seasons at Colorado State University (2022-24) with 68 tackles (24 solos, 44 assists), 10.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 17 games for the Rams. In 2023, he was named First Team All-Conference by the Athletic after finishing the season with a career-high 53 tackles (17 solos, 36 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, one interception, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 10 games.
Then, he transferred to Wake Forest in 2025 with 39 tackles (12 solos, 17 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble in 12 games for the Demon Deacons.
