The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed wide receiver Mathew Sexton on Tuesday.

Mathew Sexton is five foot eleven and weighs 175 pounds. The 28-year-old from Clinton, Michigan, signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on February 13, 2026. The Redblacks released him on May 9, 2026.

Sexton played for the Aviators (TSL) in 2020 before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 31, 2021. He also had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins.

The Vegas Vipers drafted Sexton in the eighth round (60th pick) in Phase 1 of the 2023 XFL Draft. In 2023, Sexton made 23 catches for 364 yards, 3 kick returns for 49 yards, and 13 punt returns for 101 yards in 10 games.

The San Antonio Brahmas signed Sexton on August 27, 2024. In 2025, he made three catches for 15 yards, eight punt returns for 154 yards, one touchdown, and four tackles (4 solos) in five games, of which one was a start.

Collegiately, Sexton played four seasons at Eastern Michigan (2016-19) with 100 catches for 1,335 yards, 9 touchdowns, 6 carries for 23 yards, 21 kick returns for 353 yards, 2 punt returns for 77 yards, and one touchdown in 43 games for the Eagles.
