The Edmonton Elks signed defensive back Benjamin Sangmuah on Monday.
Benjamin Sangmuah is six foot one and weighs 198 pounds. The 22-year-old from Scarborough, Ontario, was drafted by the Edmonton Elks in the second round (12th pick) of the 2026 CFL Draft. He attended the Indianapolis Colts rookie minicamp last week.
Collegiately, Sangmuah spent four seasons at the University of British Columbia (2022-25) with 162 tackles (95 solos, 67 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, five interceptions for 72 yards, one touchdown, 29 pass breakups, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 41 games for the Thunderbirds. In 2025, he had a career-high 57 tackles (32 solos, 25 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, 10 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in nine games.
