The Ottawa Redblacks signed defensive backs Jordan Wright and Kobe Savage on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Jordan Wright is five foot ten and weighs 171 pounds. A native of Cordova, Tennessee, Wright began his collegiate career at Fullerton College (2019-21). In 2019, he started as a wide receiver before switching to defensive back. He made 18 tackles (15 solos, 3 assists), one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups in nine games for the Hornets.
In 2021, he earned all-region and all-conference honors after finishing the season with 21 tackles (16 solos, 5 assists), two tackles for loss, two interceptions for 71 yards, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 10 games.
Next, he transferred to Kansas State (2022-23) with eight tackles (6 solos, 2 assists) and two pass breakups in 13 games for the Wildcats. He was named First Team Academic All-Big 12 in 2023.
Then, he transferred to the University of Connecticut in 2024 with a career-high 46 tackles (32 solos, 14 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 12 games for the Huskies.
Kobe Savage is five foot eleven and weighs 205 pounds. A native of Paris, Texas, Savage attended the San Francisco 49ers rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Savage began his collegiate career at East Texas A&M University in 2019, where he was a redshirt freshman for the Lions. Next, he transferred to Tyler Junior College (2020-21). In the 2020-21 spring season, Savage made 30 tackles (25 solos, 5 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception, and one pass breakup in seven games for the Apache. In 2021, he was named First Team All-Conference and Second Team NJCAA All-American after finishing the season with 70 tackles (58 solos, 12 assists), one tackle for loss, five interceptions for 77 yards, and three pass breakups in 12 games.
Then, he transferred to Kansas State (2022-23) with 115 tackles (83 solos, 32 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, six interceptions, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 13 games for the Wildcats. He was named a two-time Second Team All-Big 12.
Savage concluded his collegiate career at the University of Oregon in 2024 with 64 tackles (35 solos, 29 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 14 games for the Ducks.
