The Calgary Stampeders have reportedly signed wide receiver Dejon Brissett on Monday according to Farhan Lalji. Players can sign with their teams on February 10, 2026.
Dejon Brissett is six foot one and weighs 195 pounds. The 29-year-old from Mississauga, Ontario, made 65 catches for 907 yards, three touchdowns, one carry for 12 yards, and one tackle on special teams in 18 games.
The Toronto Argonauts drafted Brissett in the first round (2nd pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. In 2021, he made nine catches for 131 yards three tackles, one tackle on special teams, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in nine games.
In 2022, he made 10 catches for 102 yards, one touchdown, three kick returns for 44 yards, four punt returns for 28 yards, and six tackles on special teams, helping Toronto win the 109th Grey Cup. In 2023, he made 38 catches for 594 yards, five touchdowns, five kickoff returns for 109 yards, one tackle, and 13 tackles on special teams in 18 games.
In 2024, he made 14 catches for 171 yards, three touchdowns, and one carry for 13 yards in six games, helping Toronto win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In the Grey Cup, Brissett made three catches for 45 yards and one touchdown. He was named the Grey Cup Most Valuable Canadian.
Collegiately, Brissett played four seasons at the University of Richmond (2015-18) with 85 catches for 1,276 yards, nine touchdowns, 32 kick returns for 764 yards, one touchdown, and ten punt returns for 150 yards, and one touchdown in 29 games for the Spiders. He was named First Team All-CAA in 2017. Then, he transferred to Virginia in 2019 with two catches for 18 yards in 12 games for the Cavaliers.
