Oregon shuts out Texas Tech to win the Capital One Orange Bowl

The Oregon Ducks (13-1) took on the Texas Tech Red Raiders (12-2) on Thursday afternoon in the Capital One Orange Bowl from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Oregon kicker Atticus Sappington made two field goals in the first half as the Ducks led the Red Raiders 6-0 at halftime. In the second half, running back Jordon Davison rushed for two touchdowns, and Sappington added another field goal as the Ducks shut out the Red Raiders 23-0. Oregon will now head to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 7:30 pm on ESPN.

Oregon’s offense had 309 yards (245 yards passing, 64 yards rushing), 15 first downs, and the team was penalized three times for 25 yards. Quarterback Dante Moore completed 26 of 33 passes (78%) for 234 yards, one interception, and 10 carries for -12 yards.

Running back Jordon Davison had 15 carries for 42 yards, two rushing touchdowns, and one catch for 14 yards. Wide receiver Jamari Johnson made four catches for 66 yards, and Malik Benson made five catches for 51 yards.

Kicker Atticus Sappington made 3 of 4 field goals (75%) with a long of 50 yards, and two extra points. The defense made 59 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and four pass breakups.

Texas Tech’s offense had 215 yards (137 yards passing, 78 yards rushing), 10 first downs, and the team was penalized six times for 36 yards. Quarterback Behren Morton completed 18 of 32 passes (56.3%) for 137 yards, two interceptions, and six carries for -32 yards.

Running back J’Koby Williams had 13 carries for 81 yards and five catches for 17 yards. Wide receiver Terrance Carter Jr. made nine catches for 72 yards. Kicker Stone Harrington missed one field goal. The defense made 84 tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and four pass breakups.
