The NASCAR Xfinity Series visited World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway in Madison, Illinois, for the Nu Way 200. Connor Zilisch started the race on the pole, with Nick Sanchez starting second.
Connor Zilisch dominated the race, leading 121 of 160 laps and winning the first stage to win his ninth race of the season by 1.506 seconds over William Sawalich. It was Zilisch’s fourth consecutive win, and he won the Xfinity Series regular season title. He gets 15 bonus points to start the playoffs. It was also Zilisch’s tenth career win.
His teammate, Justin Allgaier, led 28 laps and won the second stage to finish in 28th place. There were six cautions throughout the race. Among the drivers who brought the cautions out was Jeb Burton.
Christian Eckes, Brandon Jones, and Jesse Love rounded out the top five. Aric Almirola, Daniel Hemric, Parker Retzlaff, Corey Day, and Daniel Dye rounded out the top ten. The Xfinity Series heads to Bristol Motor Speedway next Friday at 7:30 pm on The CW.
