
The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed wide receiver and kick returner Drae McCray and defensive lineman Kendy Charles on Saturday.
Drae McCray is five foot nine and weighs 185 pounds. A native of Tallahassee, Florida, McCray made 12 catches for 74 yards, one carry for 13 yards, 15 kick returns for 396 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in eight games for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Collegiately, McCray played two seasons at Austin Peay (2021-22) making 129 catches for 1,888 yards, 13 carries for 55 yards, nine kick returns for 162 yards, one punt return for 39 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 22 games for the Governors.
In his final season at Austin Peay, McCray made 76 catches for 1,021 yards, 12 carries for 54 yards, and three kick returns for 54 yards in 11 games. McCray was named a two-time All-American by HERO Sports, First Team All-OVC in 2021, OVC All-Newcomer Team in 2021, and the All-SUN Conference in 2022.
Then, he transferred to Texas Tech (2023-24) making 41 catches for 329 yards, two touchdowns, two carries for 17 yards, 41 kick returns for 1,113 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 solo) in 21 games for the Red Raiders. He was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2023 and 2024.
Kendy Charles is six foot and weighs 287 pounds. A native of Orange Park, Florida, Charles transferred to Duke in 2024 making 50 tackles (12 solos, 38 assists), seven tackles for loss, two sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Blue Devils. He was named a recipient of Duke’s Ace Parker Award in 2024.
Collegiately, Charles played four seasons at Liberty (2020-23) making 77 tackles (35 solos, 42 assists), 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 30 games for the Flames. In his final season in 2023, Charles made 18 tackles (7 solos, 11 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and one fumble recovery in six games.
