The Birmingham Stallions (5-0) visited Rice Stadium on Saturday night against the Houston Roughnecks (1-4) in a USFL Conference matchup. The Stallions routed the Roughnecks by the final score of 32-9 to remain undefeated in the UFL.

With the win, the Stallions have now won their last 12 games dating back to last season in the USFL. The last time the Stallions lost was in Week 5 against the Houston Gamblers 27-20.

Birmingham had 358 yards on offense. Quarterback Adrian Martinez completed 11 of 20 passes (55%) for 155 yards, one touchdown, and 9 carries for 138 yards. Martinez’s touchdown happened in the second quarter to Jace Sternberger for 27 yards that made it 18-3 Birmingham with 7:33 left.

Running back Larry Roundtree III had 9 carries for 50 yards, one touchdown. His touchdown happened in the second quarter for five yards that made it 12-3 Birmingham with 10:21 left. Ricky Pearson Jr. had 14 carries for 25 yards, two touchdowns, and one catch for seven yards.

Pearson Jr.’s two touchdowns happened in the first half. The first came in the first quarter for six yards for a 6-0 lead, and the second happened in the second quarter for two yards that made it 26-3 with 2:01 left of the first half. Birmingham’s rushers finished the night with 32 carries for 213 yards, and two touchdowns.

Birmingham wide receiver Deon Cain led the team in receiving making three catches for 33 yards, while tight end Jace Sternberger made two catches for 46 yards and one touchdown. Birmingham’s receivers finished the game making 11 catches for 155 yards, and one touchdown.

Kicker Ramiz Ahmed made two field goals with a long of 37 yards. Birmingham’s defense made 60 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, five pass breakups, two interceptions, and one forced fumble.

Houston had 271 yards on offense. Quarterback Reid Sinnett completed 27 of 38 passes (71%) for 203 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and three carries for six yards. Sinnett’s touchdown happened in the second quarter to tight end Braedon Bowman for one yard cutting the Stallions lead down to 26-9 with 11 seconds left before halftime.

Backup quarterback Nolan Henderson completed 3 of 4 passes (75%) for 35 yards, and one interception. Running back T.J. Pledger IV led the rushers with six carries for 15 yards, and four catches for 15 yards, while Mark Thompson had four carries for 11 yards and two catches for 11 yards. Houston’s rushers finished the game with 14 carries for 36 yards.

Houston wide receiver Justin Hall led the team in receiving making 11 catches for 93 yards. The receivers finished the night making 30 catches for 238 yards, and one touchdown. Kicker J.J. Molson made one field goal for 36 yards. Houston’s defense made 57 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, and three pass breakups.
