The Edmonton Elks signed linebacker Chris Whittaker on Thursday.
Chris Whittaker is six foot three and weighs 230 pounds. The 24-year-old from Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, attended the Denver Broncos rookie minicamp in 2023 and was drafted by the Arlington Renegades (XFL) in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft.
Collegiately, Whittaker started at Kentucky (2017-18) but did not see any action for the Wildcats. Next, he transferred to Florida International (2019-20) with 27 tackles (17 solo, 10 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery in 15 games for the Panthers.
Then, Whittaker transferred to Incarnate World in 2022 with 36 tackles (21 solo, 15 assists), ten tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one pass breakup, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 14 games for the Cardinals.
