The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-4) visited Kinnick Stadium on Saturday afternoon against the Iowa Hawkeyes (8-2) for the fourth all-time meeting. The Scarlet Knights had lost three straight games to the Hawkeyes and the losing streak continued on Saturday.
Rutgers had 127 yards on offense. Quarterback Gavin Wimsatt completed 7 of 18 passes (39%) for 93 yards, and one interception. Running back Kyle Monangai had 13 carries for 39 yards, and wide receiver Ian Strong made three catches for 47 yards. Rutgers’s defense made 73 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and two pass breakups.
Iowa had 402 yards on offense. Quarterback Deacon Hill completed 20 of 31 passes (65%) for 223 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Running back Jaziun Patterson had 14 carries for 53 yards and one touchdown.
Iowa wide receiver Kaleb Brown made three catches for 27 yards, and one touchdown. Iowa’s defense made 38 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, and four pass breakups.
