The Ottawa Redblacks released wide receiver Quan Bray on Thursday. Quan Bray is five foot ten and weighs 184 pounds. This release comes as he gets set to face sexual assault charges and obstruction of justice. Earlier on Thursday, Paul Cherry of the Montreal Gazette reported that an arrest warrant was issued on Thursday but was later canceled.

Bray was arrested in April for allegedly sexually assaulting and choking a woman while playing for the Alouettes in 2021 and is also accused of obstructing justice between December 5, 2021, and July 21, 2022, while trying to convince the woman to withdraw her police complaint.

Bray made a court appearance on May 1st. He was scheduled to appear on Thursday but did not show prompting the arrest warrant. However, this lawyer represented him on Thursday afternoon thus canceling the warrant.

The 30-year-old from LaGrange, California, was on the Redblacks’ practice squad in the 2022 season. Before Ottawa, Bray spent two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes and was one of the final cuts in training camp earlier this year.

Bray had 93 catches for 1,299 yards, eight touchdowns, one carry for six yards, 26 punt returns for 191 yards, and two kick returns for 45 yards in 27 games for the Alouettes.

Before the CFL, the Indianapolis Colts signed Bray as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He played three seasons with the Colts, catching six passes for 75 yards, one carry for seven yards, 48 kick returns for 1,231 yards, and 45 punt returns for 314 yards in 24 games. In 2019, Bray played three games for the Birmingham Iron (AAF), with one carry for three yards.

Collegiately, Bray played four seasons at Auburn (2011-14) with 83 catches for 853 yards, seven touchdowns, 13 carries for 68 yards, one touchdown, 56 punt returns for 565 yards, 34 kick returns for 758 yards, and two touchdowns in 43 games for the Tigers.
