Montreal Alouettes sign CFL Draft pick defensive lineman Lwal Uguak

The Montreal Alouettes signed former TCU defensive lineman Lwal Uguak on Tuesday. Lwal Uguak is six foot five and weighs 271 pounds. The Alouettes drafted Uguak in the first round (7th pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft.

The 23-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, recently attended rookie minicamps with the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons. In 2022, Uguak played one season at TCU with nine tackles (4 solo, 5 assists), half a tackle for loss, and one fumble recovery in 14 games for the Horned Frogs.

Before TCU, Uguak played three seasons at the University of Connecticut (2018-19, 2021) with 69 tackles (31 solo, 38 assists), nine tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 34 games for the Huskies.
