The Calgary Stampeders signed former Edmonton Elks offensive lineman D’Antne Demery on Wednesday. The 25-year-old from Brunswick, Georgia, played one game for the Elks in 2021 starting at left tackle. In addition, he attended the Elks training camp and spent a week on the practice squad before being released.

Collegiately, Demery played 26 games, of which 25 were starts at left tackle in three seasons at Florida International (2018-20).

In 2019, Demery was part of an offensive line that allowed just 14 sacks on the year, which tied for the fifth-lowest in the nation and first in C-USA and also ranked as the third-lowest in FIU history. In addition, the offensive line paved the way for three-straight 100-yard rushing games for Anthony Jones, the most since Rashod Smith in 2004.

In 2018, Demery played 11 games at left tackle and was part of an offensive line that allowed a school-record low eight sacks all season, which ranked first in Conference USA and third overall in the nation.

Demery is a two-time All-Conference USA Honorable Mention, and a 2019 Athlon Sports Preseason All-Conference USA Second Team. Before transferring to FIU, Demery attended Hutchinson Community College in 2017.
