BC Lions adds former Argonauts quarterback Antonio Pipkin

The BC Lions signed veteran quarterback Antonio Pipkin on Tuesday, just two days after the Toronto Argonauts released him.

Antonio Pipkin (26-years-old) played in the Argonauts’ pre-season game last week against the Ottawa Redblacks, going 7-9 for 60-yards, one interception, and one carry for ten yards. The Gary, Indiana, native played one season in Toronto (2021) with 13-26 completions for 158 yards, one interception, 27 carries for 131 yards, and five touchdowns in seven games.

Before joining Toronto, Pipkin played three seasons with the Montreal Alouettes (2017-19), completing 99-182 passes for 1,295 yards, four touchdowns, eight interceptions, 58 carries for 318 yards, and nine touchdowns. In 2020, he signed with the Edmonton Elks in 2020, but the season was canceled due to the pandemic.

In college, Pipkin played three seasons at Tiffin University (2013-16), with 499-777 completions (64.2%) for 5,992 yards, 58 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 254 carries for 1,479 yards, and 15 touchdowns in 23 games. After college, Pipkin signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent.
