The Montreal Alouettes parted ways with special teams coordinator Mickey Donovan on Tuesday. The 41-year-old from Laconia, New Hampshire, was the special teams coordinator since 2018.
Alouettes General Manager Danny Maciocia “Khari Jones has presented me with a plan that we have been working on to achieve our goals. I am pleased with the direction that we are taking.”
Head Coach Khari Jones on the change said, “This kind of decision is always difficult to make, and we want to thank Mickey for all his dedication over the past few years with us. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Donovan joined the Alouettes in 2018 after being the head coach of the Concordia Stingers of U Sports. In 2014, he was named RSEQ Coach of the Year. He began his coaching career in 2007 with the Western Mustangs. As a player, he spent two years on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats practice squad.
