The Indianapolis Colts signed offensive lineman Trey Wedig on Tuesday.
Trey Wedig is six foot six and weighs 310 pounds. The 24-year-old from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, signed with the D.C. Defenders on February 7, 2026. In 2026, Wedig played five games, of which one was a start. In the UFL playoffs, he started two games, helping the Defenders reach the United Bowl against the Louisville Kings. In 2026, D.C. averaged 27.9 points per game, 343.9 yards per game, 192.3 passing yards per game, 151.6 rushing yards per game, and 30 touchdowns.
The Los Angeles Rams signed Wedig as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2025. In 2025, he played in three preseason games. The Rams released him on August 24, 2025. The Arizona Cardinals signed Wedig to the practice squad on November 19, 2025. They released him on December 16, 2025.
Collegiately, Wedig spent four seasons at Wisconsin (2020-23), playing right tackle, right guard, and left guard in 32 games for the Badgers. In 2023, he played both right guard and left guard in 12 games. Wisconsin averaged 23.5 points per game, 380.5 yards per game, 220.1 passing yards per game, 160.5 rushing yards per game, and 37 touchdowns. He was named a two-time Academic All-Big Ten.
Then, he transferred to Indiana in 2024, starting right tackle in 13 games for the Hoosiers. Indiana averaged 41.3 points per game, 426.4 yards per game, 261.3 passing yards per game, 165.1 rushing yards per game, and 72 touchdowns. The Hoosiers finished 11-1 for the season and appeared in the first round of the College Football Playoff against Notre Dame.
