The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series visited Talladega Superspeedway on Friday afternoon in the Love’s RV Stop 225. Ty Majeski started the race on the pole, with Sammy Smith starting second.

In the first stage, Stewart Friesen was running in the middle lane when he had a tire issue, causing a nine-truck crash in Turns 1 and 2. The first stage ended three laps early and was won by Gio Ruggiero. In the second stage, Chandler Smith had multiple issues, including a flat right-rear tire, a speeding penalty, and got caught in a crash with Jake Garcia and Connor Jones on lap 57. Tanner Gray would win the second stage.

In the closing laps of the final stage, Thomas Annunziata got a shove from his teammate Kaden Honeycutt and wrecked into the outside wall entering Turn 1 before collecting Grant Enfinger, sending the race to overtime.

In overtime, several trucks were competing for the win. On the final lap, Kaden Honeycutt, Ty Majeski, Landen Lewis, Tyler Ankrum, and Sammy Smith were battling for the lead. Heading toward the start/finish line, Sammy Smith moved to the outside, holding off the rest of the field to win his first career Craftsman Truck Series race by 0.091 seconds over Tyler Ankrum. Smith led a race-high 21 of 86 laps.

Austin Green, Ty Majeski, and Kaden Honeycutt rounded out the top five. Landen Lewis, Brenden Queen, Layne Riggs, Spencer Boyd, and Corey Heim completed the top ten. Click here to view the full results. There were five cautions for 26 laps, and 32 lead changes.
