The Toronto Argonauts signed defensive lineman Gabriel Maisonneuve and defensive back Istvan Assibo-Dadzie on Monday.
Gabriel Maisonneuve is six foot three and weighs 236 pounds. The 25-year-old from Gatineau, Quebec, signed with the Alouettes on December 18, 2025. The Alouettes released him on May 5, 2025.
The Montreal Alouettes drafted Maisonneuve in the fifth round (44th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, Maisonneuve made one tackle on special teams in two games. The Alouettes placed him on the retired list on May 31, 2025, as he was returning to school.
Collegiately, Maisonneuve played five seasons at the University of Montreal (2021-25) with 53 tackles (37 solos, 16 assists), 12 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 33 games for the Carabins.
In 2025, he made 16 tackles (10 solos, 6 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in eight games, helping the Carabins win the Vanier Cup over Saskatchewan. He was named an RSEQ Defensive All-Star and First Team U Sports All-Canadian Team.
Istvan Assibo-Dadzie is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. The 24-year-old from Brampton, Ontario, was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the fourth round (30th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he made one tackle in two preseason games.
The Argonauts released him on May 31, 2025. They re-signed Assibo-Dadzie on July 12, 2025. He spent three weeks on the practice squad. The Argonauts released him on August 1, 2025.
Collegiately, Assibo-Dadzie played three seasons at the University of Windsor (2021-23) with 105 tackles (68 solos, 37 assists), half a tackle for loss, one sack, five interceptions, seven pass breakups, and three fumble recoveries in 30 games for the Lancers.
In 2024, he made 21 tackles (17 solos, 4 assists), two interceptions, and one fumble recovery in eight games. He was named an OUA First Team All-Star and U Sports Second Team All-Canadian.
