The Baltimore Ravens signed Dallas Renegades quarterback Austin Reed on Wednesday.
Austin Reed is six foot one and weighs 214 pounds. The 26-year-old from St. Augustine, Florida, was drafted by the Dallas Renegades in the 2026 UFL Quarterback Draft. In 2026, Reed completed 174 of 309 passes (56.3%) for 1,923 yards, 21 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and 30 carries for 108 yards in 10 games.
The Chicago Bears signed Reed as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Reed completed 12 of 16 passes (75%) for 123 yards, one touchdown, and eight carries for one yard in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2025, Reed completed 11 of 17 passes (64.7%) for 107 yards and four carries for -1 yard. The Bears released him on August 25, 2025.
Collegiately, Reed began as a redshirt freshman at Southern Illinois in 2018. He did not play a game for the Salukis. Next, he transferred to West Florida (2019-21), completing 486 of 868 passes (56%) for 7,502 yards, 78 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 101 carries for 323 yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solos) in 26 games for the Argonauts. He was named GSC Offensive Freshman of the Year and helped the Argonauts win the NCAA Division II championship in 2019.
Then, he transferred to Western Kentucky (2022-23), completing 678 of 1,073 passes (63%) for 8,084 yards, 71 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, 133 carries for 324 yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, and punted the ball one time for 37 yards in 26 games for the Hilltoppers. Reed was named Second Team All-C-USA in 2022, C-USA Newcomer of the Year in 2022, and the C-USA Honorable Mention in 2023.
