The Washington Commanders signed D.C. Defenders linebacker Curtis Jacobs on Tuesday.
Curtis Jacobs is six foot one and weighs 235 pounds. The 24-year-old from Glen Burnie, Maryland, signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2024. He spent two seasons in Kansas City with four tackles (2 solos, 2 assists) in 12 games. The D.C. Defenders drafted Jacobs in the eighth round (60th pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft. Jacobs also spent time with the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and the New York Giants.
Jacobs made 15 tackles (6 solos, 9 assists) in six preseason games. The D.C. Defenders drafted Jacobs in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, he made 42 tackles (23 solos, 19 assists), two tackles for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery, and two pass breakups in 10 games. In the UFL playoffs, he made four tackles (2 solos, 2 assists), helping the Defenders appear in the United Bowl against the Louisville Kings.
Collegiately, Jacobs played four seasons at Penn State (2020-23) with 170 tackles (105 solos, 66 assists), 24 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, one forced fumble, five pass breakups, two interceptions for 49 yards, and one touchdown in 45 games for the Nittany Lions.
In 2023, Jacobs made 49 tackles (31 solos, 18 assists), 9 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 13 games. He was named a three-time All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.
