The Pittsburgh Steelers signed wide receiver Isaiah Winstead on Sunday, according to Michael Del Negro.
Isaiah Winstead is six foot four and weighs 213 pounds. The 27-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, was drafted by the Louisville Kings in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, he made 29 catches for 474 yards and three touchdowns. In the UFL playoffs, he made seven catches for 88 yards, one touchdown, and one carry for -2 yards. In the United Bowl against the D.C. Defenders, Winstead made four catches for 22 yards to help the Kings win the championship.
The San Francisco 49ers signed Winstead as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. In 2023, he made four catches for 54 yards in two preseason games. The 49ers released him on December 7, 2023.
The Arlington Renegades signed Winstead on January 20, 2024. In 2024, he made 12 catches for 175 yards and two touchdowns in seven games. The Renegades released Winstead on August 1, 2024, and he signed with the New York Jets on August 2, 2024. He appeared in three preseason games and was targeted four times with no catches. The Jets released him on August 27, 2024.
Winstead re-signed with the Arlington Renegades on October 1, 2024. In 2025, he made 31 catches for 307 yards in 10 games. He became a free agent after the 2025 season. The B.C. Lions signed Winstead to the practice squad on September 22, 2025. The Lions released him on November 11, 2025.
Collegiately, Winstead played two seasons at Norfolk State (2017-18) with 83 catches for 977 yards, eight touchdowns, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 22 games for the Spartans. In his sophomore year, Winstead led NSU in all major receiving categories, including catches (54), yards (633), and touchdowns (5).
Next, Winstead transferred to Toledo (2020-21) with 63 catches for 949 yards and four touchdowns in 19 games for the Rockets. He was named Third Team All-MAC in 2020.
Then, Winstead transferred to East Carolina in 2022 with 88 catches for 1,085 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games for the Pirates. He was named Third Team All-AAC by Phil Steele in 2022.
