The Arizona Cardinals signed tight end Shawn Bowman and linebacker Eugene Asante on Sunday, according to James Larsen.
Shawn Bowman is six foot four and weighs 249 pounds. The 26-year-old from Bear, Delaware, signed with the Orlando Storm on January 23, 2026. In 2026, he made seven catches for 53 yards in 10 games. He also played in the UFL Semi-Finals against the D.C. Defenders.
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Bowman as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Bowman made one catch for 12 yards and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad. In 2025, Bowman made one catch for 10 yards in three preseason games. The Jaguars released him on August 26, 2025.
Collegiately, Bowman spent five seasons at the University of Maine (2019-22) with 86 catches for 960 yards, 11 touchdowns, and three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in 34 games for the Black Bears.
He was named Second Team Freshman All-American by Phil Steele in 2019, Third Team All-CAA and Fourth Team All-CAA by Phil Steele in 2021, and Third Team All-CAA in 2022. Then, he transferred to Rutgers in 2023 with four catches for 24 yards in 13 games for the Scarlet Knights.
Bowman attended Howard High School, where he was named First Team All-State, a two-time First Team All-Conference, and a Team Captain in 2016 and 2017. He led the team to the 2015 Flight B State Title and 2017 Flight B Division Championship. He was also an All-Conference basketball player from 2015-2017.
Eugene Asante is six foot and weighs 218 pounds. The 25-year-old from Alexandria, Virginia, was drafted by the Houston Gamblers in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, he made 34 tackles (18 solos, 16 assists), four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups in nine games.
The Miami Dolphins signed Asante as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he made 12 tackles (6 solos, 6 assists) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Dolphins released him on August 26, 2025. He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and the Atlanta Falcons.

In 2023, he was named Third Team All-SEC by Phil Steele and the College Football Network after finishing the season with a career-high 86 tackles (53 solos, 33 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one pass breakup, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown in 13 games.
