The Montreal Alouettes signed offensive lineman Chase Mitchell to a future contract on Friday, according to the CFL Transactions page.
Chase Mitchell is six foot four and weighs 340 pounds. The 24-year-old from Washington, Pennsylvania, began his collegiate career at Liberty (2020-23), playing 29 games, of which 14 were starts for the Flames. He allowed one sack and one quarterback hit in 808 snaps (681 at left tackle, 126 at right tackle).
Mitchell posted a pass block rating of 70 in four games by Pro Football Focus. In 2020, he helped Liberty rank ninth nationally in rushing offense (252.4 yards per game), 15th in total offense (482.7 yards per game), and 16th in scoring offense (38.2 points per game).
Then, he transferred to Vanderbilt (2024-25), starting 26 games for the Commodores. In 2024, he started 13 games at tackle, playing 797 snaps. He did not allow a sack in 2024. Vanderbilt averaged 27.3 points per game, 318.4 yards per game, 178.6 passing yards per game, 139.8 rushing yards per game, and 39 touchdowns.
In 2025, Mitchell started 13 games. Vanderbilt averaged 38.5 points per game, 463.1 yards per game, 287.5 passing yards per game, 175.5 rushing yards per game, and 65 touchdowns. The Commodores finished 6-2 to appear in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
