The Edmonton Elks signed offensive lineman Arvin Hosseini to the practice squad and released linebacker Jadon Pearson on Monday.
Arvin Hosseini is six foot five and weighs 300 pounds. The 22-year-old from North Vancouver, British Columbia, appeared in one preseason game in 2026. Hosseini did not play in the regular season as he dealt with an ankle injury. The Tiger-Cats released him on July 24, 2026.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Hosseini in the third round (21st pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he appeared in two games.
Collegiately, Hosseini played four seasons at the University of British Columbia (2021-24), playing 27 games, of which 16 were starts for the Thunderbirds. In 2024, UBC averaged 27.67 points per game, 148.4 rushing yards per game, 310.78 passing yards per game, 442.4 total yards per game, 29 touchdowns, and allowed 10 sacks, finishing 5-4 for the season.
He was named a Canada West All-Star in 2024 and helped UBC win the Hardy Cup and Mitchell Bowl championship in 2023.
Jadon Pearson is six foot one and weighs 222 pounds. The 25-year-old from Gilbert, Arizona, signed with the Edmonton Elks on May 5, 2026. In 2026, Pearson made three tackles in two preseason games. The Elks released him on May 31, 2026. Edmonton re-signed Pearson to the practice squad on June 29, 2026. He appeared in two regular season games.
Collegiately, Pearson began his collegiate career at the Air Force in 2020 with six tackles (2 solos, 4 assists) in four games for the Falcons. Next, he transferred to Reedley College in 2021 with 74 tackles (56 solos, 18 assists), nine tackles for loss, three interceptions, and four pass breakups in 11 games for the Tigers.
Then, he transferred to Utah (2022-23) with nine tackles (6 solos, 3 assists) in 17 games for the Utes. Pearson transferred to Utah State in 2024 with 18 tackles (5 solos, 13 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, and two pass breakups in three games for the Aggies.
Pearson concluded his collegiate career at Fresno State in 2025, where he was named Second Team All-Mountain West after finishing the season with a career-high 106 tackles (51 solos, 55 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Bulldogs.
