The Hamilton Tiger-Cats released defensive back Gregory Junior on Friday.
Gregory Junior is six foot and weighs 203 pounds. The 27-year-old from Crossett, Arkansas, signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on January 30, 2026. In 2026, he made three tackles and one tackle on special teams in two preseason games. Junior played two regular-season games with nine tackles and one tackle on special teams.
The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Junior in the sixth round (197th pick) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons in Jacksonville with 17 tackles (11 solos, 6 assists), two tackles for loss, and one pass breakup in 10 games. He also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, and the Denver Broncos.
Collegiately, Junior spent five seasons at Ouachita Baptist University (2017-21) with 128 tackles (91 solos, 37 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, one interception, 17 pass breakups, and one touchdown in 43 games for the Tigers. In 2021, he was named First Team All-GAC after finishing the season with a career-high 46 tackles (33 solos, 13 assists), three tackles for loss, and seven pass breakups in 11 games.
