The Hamilton Tiger-Cats extended the contract of linebacker Ryan Baker through the 2027 season on Monday.
Ryan Baker is six foot one and weighs 221 pounds. The 26-year-old from North Vancouver, British Columbia, has made 16 tackles in three games for the Tiger-Cats in 2026.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Baker in the fourth round (36th pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2024, Baker made 42 tackles and three tackles on special teams in 13 games. In 2025, he made nine tackles and 11 tackles on special teams in nine games.
Collegiately, Baker played five seasons at the University of British Columbia (2018-23) with 221 tackles (126 solos, 95 assists), 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one interception, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, one carry for four yards, and one catch for 25 yards in 32 games for the Thunderbirds.
In 2023, Baker made 80 tackles (44 solos, 36 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and one catch for 25 yards in 12 games.
