Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign OL Temi Ajirotutu, release WR Shedler Fervius

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed offensive lineman Temi Ajirotutu and released wide receiver Shedler Fervius on Tuesday.

Temi Ajirotutu is six foot five and weighs 310 pounds. The 24-year-old from Queens, New York, spent six seasons at Villanova (2020-25), playing guard and left tackle in 52 games for the Wildcats. In 2023, he was named Third Team All-CAA after starting 13 games. Villanova’s offense helped the Wildcats lead the CAA with 424.9 yards per game and 214.6 rushing yards per game. In addition, Villanova averaged 31.9 points per game, 210.31 passing yards per game, and 55 touchdowns.

In 2025, he was named First Team All-American by AFCA, Second Team FCS Football Central All-American, and First Team All-CAA after starting 15 games. Villanova averaged 29.5 points per game, 390.9 yards per game, 215.47 passing yards per game, 175.5 rushing yards per game, and 57 touchdowns.

Ajirotutu also competed in track and field, where he had a personal best of 13.17 meters in the Shot Put and 42.67 meters in the Discus.

Shedler Fervius is six foot one and weighs 190 pounds. The 27-year-old from Scarborough, Ontario, re-signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on December 18, 2025.

The Montreal Alouettes drafted Fervius in the fifth round (41st pick) in the 2023 CFL Draft. In 2023, he played in four games with no stats. In 2024, he made seven catches for 87 yards in 12 games. In 2025, Fervius played in two preseason games with no stats. He spent three weeks on the practice squad. The Alouettes released him on June 23, 2025.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Fervius to the practice squad on August 31, 2025. The Tiger-Cats released him on November 9, 2025.

Collegiately, Fervius played three seasons at St. Mary’s University (2018-19, 2021) with 59 catches for 702 yards, one touchdown, 14 carries for 126 yards, 47 kick returns for 992 yards, one touchdown, four tackles (4 solos), and one forced fumble in 18 games for the Huskies. He played in the 2022 East-West Bowl.
