The D.C. Defenders placed defensive back Gabe Taylor on injured reserve on Tuesday, according to the UFL Transactions page.

Gabe Taylor is five foot ten and weighs 193 pounds. The 24-year-old from Miami, Florida, attended the Washington Commanders rookie minicamp in 2025. The D.C. Defenders drafted Taylor in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, he made 17 tackles (15 solos, 2 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, one interception, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in five games.

Collegiately, Taylor spent five seasons at Rice University (2020-24) with 239 tackles (160 solos, 79 assists), 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, 10 interceptions for 190 yards, one returning touchdown, 27 pass breakups, six forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 54 games for the Owls.

In 2024, he was named First Team All-CUSA by CFN, Second Team All-CUSA, and the winner of the George Martin Award (MVP) after finishing the season with 57 tackles (34 solos, 23 assists), seven tackles for loss, three sacks, three interceptions, seven pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 12 games.
