The Montreal Alouettes signed quarterback Arnaud Desjardins, re-signed quarterback James Morgan, and signed linebackers Damonte Smith and Malick Sylla on Monday.

Arnaud Desjardins is six foot five and weighs 215 pounds. The 26-year-old from Montreal, Quebec, spent four seasons at Laval University (2022-25), completing 700 of 955 passes (73.3%) for 8,829 yards, 63 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 88 carries for 502 yards, five rushing touchdowns, one catch for five yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 31 games for the Rouge et Or.

In 2022, he was named First Team U Sports All-Canadian and the RSEQ Offensive All-Star after finishing the season by completing 195 of 267 passes (73%) for 2,555 yards, 20 touchdowns, four interceptions, 17 carries for 99 yards, and one rushing touchdown in eight games, helping Laval win the Vanier Cup.

In 2025, he was named First Team All-CUSA and First Team All-CUSA by Phil Steele after finishing the season with a career-high 34 tackles (21 solos, 13 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 12 games.

Malick Sylla is six foot six and weighs 255 pounds. A native of Katy, Texas, spent three seasons at Texas A&M University (2022-24) with 26 tackles (21 solos, 5 assists), six tackles for loss, and four sacks in 33 games for the Aggies. Then, he transferred to Mississippi State University in 2025 with a career-high 33 tackles (10 solos, 23 assists), seven tackles for loss, two sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Bulldogs.
